Health Problems caused by Diabetes

Are you diabetic? Then I have two news for you – good and bad.

Let me share the good news first, the good news is that Diabetes don’t kill people, but the bad news is that the complication (effects) of diabetes is what kill people, however those effects are preventable.

Leg Amputation: Diabetes can lead to foot damage (foot ulcer), due to damage to the nerves that leads to the foot. This eventually leads to cut, blisters and serious infections, and if left unattended to, may result to amputation of the toe, feet or leg. Skin Conditions: Diabetes can lead to serious skin problems. Blood and nerve problems can also lead to skin problems.

Gum Disease and Cavities: Diabetics increases your chances of having problems with your Gum and inside your mouth. Uncontrolled blood sugar can increase your chances of cavities and plague.

Hearing Problem: hearing impairment are common with diabetics.

Alzheimer’s disease: Uncontrolled blood sugar increases your chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, eating proper diet, regular check of your blood sugar and blood pressure, and staying fervent with your treatment plan, can help avoid all these complications identified above.
